I absolutely loved this story! It wasn’t just a love story between two people, but also a story of a woman finding and loving herself.

Prue Clemonte has come back from the busy city because her grandmother has passed away. She comes to learn that at some point in her life, her grandmother purchased all the land in the village and it is now hers. All of it, including her mother's bookshop that she had no idea existed. Problem is, nobody but one person likes her, and she’s all alone now with her grandmother gone and with her mother passing away long ago. See, there are secrets among the village and her family of which she was unaware.

They only person to like her from the beginning Elliot Harrington, and his father his her worst critic of all. They meet in her new bookshop just as her parents did. In fact there are a lot of similarities. But will there be a repeat of her of her mother’s almost love story like she fears or will they have a happily ever after?

This book tells her story of how she became a strong woman and into her own. She learns more about herself in the few months back to the village than she ever has. Prue Clemonte has learned to stop living in the past and move forward into her future.

I couldn’t put this book down and I’m quite sure my husband wasn’t happy about it haha. Ms. Holland put so much detail into this story and it was so easy to imagine everything! I love when I can be easily transported to a characters life because of all of the detail put into a story.

I’d have to say that Maggie is probably my favorite character of the story. She wanted so bad to be there for Prue and in the end she was strong enough to do just that. I don’t want to give too much away, but you will see what I mean when you read it!

If you have read it or when you read it, let me know what you think!

*Side note*. If you read the story Chocolat, this story reminds me a little bit of it. It’s not surprising that I absolutely love both.
