A true military romance! Maggie and her daughter Bree unfortunately lost their Marine to a military mission, now a Gold Star family, and when she started dating again she had sworn off dating any military man whatsoever. After many years they found a man they could not live without, however, he was also a Marine. What choice would she make?
This story had such a great flow and was very hard to put down. Not once did I have to stop and correct a mistake in my head to continue reading like I sometimes have to do. I read the whole story in about 5 hours because it was just that good!
This story gives “civilians” a glimpse into what a military spouse goes through. It’s not easy even on the “easy” days! From meeting the love our life to watching the go for the first time. It’s like a hole is instantly in our chest and we’re missing our loved one. I love that Jess gives everyone a chance to see a day in our lives, and I love how well she explains to everyone what everything regarding military terms mean.
I love how she highlights important parts of deployments. When they man the rails with men and women in their dress uniform surrounding the flight deck as they pull in to port for homecoming. Significant others seeing each other for the first time in months. Children jumping into their parent’s arms. It’s a beautiful sight to see and with how she describes it to read it as well.
I don’t want to give the whole story away, but it was amazing and it definitely on my ‘suggest to read’ list! If you want to read a great love story with a sweet ending, this is definitely the one.
Thank you Jess for writing such a great story.
