Getting a job providing flowers for a smash hit reality dating show was the plan. Falling for the bachelor, my brother's best friend, wasn't.
When I was offered the opportunity for my flower cafe to be the go-to for the florals on the set of Love in a Small Town, I jumped at the chance for life-changing exposure for my small business. I just never expected to be cast as a contestant at the last minute, competing for the heart of Flynn Jackson, the person I’d always wanted but could never have.
It should’ve been simple: play the part for a little while, get sent home, and reap the benefits. Yet from the moment I fall out of the sleigh and into his arms, it’s anything but. I’m a small-town florist, he’s a famous snowboarding athlete. We’re from two different worlds, obvious from the moment I walk into the Inn on the first night.
But old feelings resurface, and he’s always everywhere with that charm and sexy smolder. I can’t escape him. The more time we spend together, the harder it is to keep the secrets that could cost me everything I’ve worked for.
Especially after he pulls me aside, and tells me the one thing I never expected: he’s got feelings for me too.
Okay, first things first.. I am so upset that this is a Novella. When this was over I was entirely upset and had a book hangover for a few days. I don't always get book hangovers, but when I do - it's usually because someone died. No one died in this book, and it was a very sweet Hallmarky happy ending - so why I was hungover like I drank a bottle of tequila? I have no idea. Also, pretty sure I only had a glass of wine when I read it...
This is Monique Brasher's third novel/la in her Pine Springs series and the second that I have read, and her writing is outstanding. We all know that I like the smutty books, but I also love reading sweet books too. And Love at the Flower Cafe was exactly that. Sweet. Like a delicious German Chocolate Cake.
Harper and Flynn have been friends for years, secretly had a crush on each other - but couldn't do a damn thing because Harper's meddling brother is Flynn's BFF. Flynn came back to their town after years of being a big name in the sports world so that he can be on a Bachelor style TV show. It just so happens that Harper is forced into being on this show too. I mean, I kind of feel bad for the other contestants, because they obviously had no chance as soon as Harper and Flynn met eyes across the room. But it wouldn't be a good story without some drama either. This one woman... Meh, nevermind - I will let you read it for yourself and decide who I'd like to slap in the face Will Smith style. Too soon?
Anyways. If you like clean sweet romances, then read this! Have your cake and read this too 😉.
