Sometimes it wasn’t about finding an everlasting love. Sometimes it was about fighting the demons that threatened to tear that love apart.
Rick has fought through the fiery depths of hell and come out on the other side. It’s the only way for someone with a past steeped in loyalty to the mafia to live. Finding Christine would become his salvation and he would do anything for her.
Christine's life is full of heartache. So full that she doesn’t know where her life is heading. Forward would mean dragging her demons along with her but going back is never an option. A lifetime of suffering and torment has taught her to rely on only herself. But what happens when one man has the courage to show her just what love is all about? She would soon find out that love is stronger than the devil, and she would do anything for it.
Can they overcome the battle to stay together long enough to build something that they both have spent a lifetime hoping for?
Or will the demons of their past threaten to tear what they have finally found apart?
Okay first and foremost. Can we make having a curvy woman as a heroine more of thing people?!! I love that KB has done this! At this point in time, I’m more of a curvier woman and I love feeling like I can connect to the main characters.
With that said, that’s probably the only way I can connect with Christine. That woman has had a rough life and has a crazy-ass brother!
Rick and Christine had like insta feelings for each other. It’s so cute how they just looked at each other and knew the other was the one for them! Even though they go through a lot of crap throughout their relationship, they stick together and always fight for each other.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I absolutely love KB Barrett’s writing. The book flows so well, it’s easy to understand and read, and I wonder where the time went after I read it because I couldn’t put it down.
I have one more to read in this series until I have to wait until the fourth and last book comes out in January. Should I wait to read the third book? Or just down it now like I want to and wait? Decisions decisions.
