I have been sitting on this review for over a week now. Not because the book was horrible, but because I didn’t want to cry anymore! That, and usually I know how I feel and what to say about a story, but I didn’t want to approach my feelings right away for personal reasons.
Kate moves from San Diego, California to Grant, Minnesota to attend college so she can mark it off her bucket list. When she gets there she meets wonderful people that are kind of like the “underdogs” of the college. The college is pretty clique heavy, but she isn’t about that life. She becomes a protector and a great friend to her friends.
She meets a great man named Keller Banks and fell in love! However, she never wanted him to love her back for reasons that won’t be revealed until near the end of the book. Keller has a secret that only a few know until he shares it with Kate.
Kate has a HUGE secret she keeps from her friends and Keller, and even her best friend who she has known since she was a little girl. What the author does with this secret is outstanding and even if it’s too hard for you to read, I highly suggest reading it to the end.
I will say, if you need a really good cry, read this!
I love her writing style and it was so easy to follow and read. She definitely has the perfect combo here!
Thank you Kim Holden for a great story! And even though it made me cry, I thank you for that too. I’ve been needing one for a while now!
