Q & A with Bonnie Poirier
Can you tell me a bit about yourself and how became an author?
I have always written, some fan fiction years ago but it was just a way to be creative. The events of the last almost two years gave me the time to sit down and write.
What is your writing process like?
I don’t have a set process. Usually when an idea hits I sit down and can write for hours.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I garden, help on the farm and with the cows. We have two kids 6 and 3 so they keep me busy.
How do you celebrate when you are finished writing a book?
I have a group of women that I tell and we celebrate. Nothing to elaborate
How do you celebrate when one of your books is released?
I have only had one release so far and I panic! I’m an internal worrier so that’s what I do. Worry how people will receive it.
What is the most challenging part of writing?
Trusting myself and my writing.
What part of writing is the most fun for you?
Coming up with the storyline, or having the characters do something totally out of left field and I have to go with it.
What Authors or other books have inspired you to write?
I have always been inspired by L.M Montgomery. She wrote Anne of Green Gables. She gave me permission to use my imagination and create stories.
What is your favorite passage from one of your books?
From the Arrangement: You want to know why I didn’t try? I knew you were too good for me. I didn’t want a forever. I just wanted a right now and I knew you would be a forever.
If you could meet any of your characters, who would it be and what would you say to them?
I’m writing a story that takes place in Maine and I would like to meet Jenni and ask her so many questions about the hardships she’s faced in her life.
