Kelly Kelsey's author journey began in 2020 when the world's pandemic landed at our doors. Within her time, Kelly explored her creativity and found love with writing romance with a twist (oh and maybe taboo tropes too)!

Elimination Excerpt

I am in hell.

I knew it would be hard training Thalia after my…visceral reaction to her yesterday. I just didn’t think it would be this hard. Watching her smile in her element as she rides her horse. Her pussy grinding against the saddle as she sits in it.

I groan.

Never did I think I would be jealous of a saddle but here I am. I want to pull her from it and get her to grind on me like that. My brain has malfunctioned and all I can think about is her riding me. Taking my cock as I sink inside of her. My dick twitches in my jodhpurs and I now wish I had worn sweatpants or jeans. Not something that clings to me and shows every outline. I quickly move to stand behind one of the arena decorations, hiding my erection as I call out to her.

“Thalia, come down to the upright, then turn left and jump the oxer,” I shout. She does as I say, jumping the fences I have set out for her. She isn’t that bad of a rider, to be honest, and her horse is okay. It won’t be good enough for what she is aiming to achieve. If she wants to be the best, to step up a level, then she needs to listen to what I tell her, even if she doesn’t like what I have to say. She jumps them a couple more times and I have seen enough.

“Okay, that’s enough. Hop off and hand Lolly to Jessica to cool down. Maria is bringing Zeus out.” She nods, jumping off and passing the horse to Jessica. She spins and starts towards me. I stand frozen behind the artificial plant, my dick hardening at the sight of her in those tight white jodhpurs that cling to her every curve.

Jesus. She needs to walk the other way before she sees the bulge in mine. I am not exactly small and if she gets any nearer, she will easily see the outline of my cock. My heart rate picks up as she gets closer, and I know I need to do something. I clear my throat, ready to tell her to go and see where Zeus is, when I spot Maria bringing him out of the barn. I sigh in relief. Crisis averted.

“Thalia, hop on Zeus,” I almost snap. She frowns before spinning and spotting her horse. She marches toward him, her heart shaped ass bouncing as she walks away. I have never seen such a perfect ass in my life.

I groan.

What the fuck is this girl doing to me? I have never had such a reaction toward a woman before.

Thalia comes to an abrupt stop by the side of him and bends.

She. Fucking. Bends.

Her ass is now in full view of me. My dick jerks, as my jaw clenches. A wolf whistle sounds and my head jerks to the viewing area where Carter fucking Vanderberg watches Thalia like she is his next meal. My blood boils and I see red.

“Go and get suited up, Carter, you’re up next,” I bark, making his head whip to me, a knowing grin on his face. I want to kill the bastard. In fact, I just might. That or end his contract with me. He stares at me for a long beat before mock saluting—because he is an asshole—and walks away. I glance at Thalia, who is studying me intently. Like I am a puzzle she must solve.

“Get on the horse, Thalia, I don’t have all day,” I drawl. She scowls and I bite back a smile. The girl is feisty. I like it.

I like it a lot.

Q&A With Kelly Kelsey

Q: Can you tell me a bit about yourself and how became an author?

A: I started writing when Covid hit and after I had read the after series by Anna Todd. It inspired me to try my hand at writing after I had tried but failed to write a novel around twelve years ago.

Q: What is your writing process like?

A: I know a rough plotline in my head before I start. Where the story begins and ends but in between I write as I go and tend to find it works better for me.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not writing?

A: I spend time with family, friends and my partner. I love the gym - I always have bursts of inspiration when working out - and I love to try new things, anything from restaurants to activities.

Q: If you have a pen name how did you choose it?

A: My pen name is my first and middle name.

Q: Do your family and friends know that you are an author?

A: Yes and they support me every step of the way. When I first began writing, only my partner and two friends knew as I didn't want the pressure of people asking how it was going if I couldn't complete it. It wasn't until two weeks before Sweet Temptation was released I told my family and made it public.

Q: How do you celebrate when you are finished writing a book?

A: It's the best feeling when you finish a book. I don't really celebrate as much but I feel all the tension and stress release from me.

Q: How do you celebrate when your books are released?

A: My partner normally takes me for a lunch. I may have a cheeky glass of pink champagne, it's my fave.

Q: Are any of your characters similar to real-life friends or family?

A: No, I have sometimes used experiences of friends and family for inspiration but none of my characters are similar.

Q: What was the most challenging part of writing?

A: The stress of wanting to do it but not knowing if I could. You think it gets easier but every book has its challenges.

Q: What part of writing is the most fun for you?

A: I love writing the epilogues. They are my absolute favourite parts to write.

Q: What Authors or other Books have inspired your writing?

A: Anna Todd

Lucia Franco

Jessica Hawkins

Danielle Lori

Cassandra Robbins

Q: If you could meet any of your characters, who would it be and what would you say to them?

A: I love all my characters but I have a special place in my heart for Nate and Eden as they were my first. I would probably tell them I love them. Lol.

Q: Do you pick your book covers before or after you write your books?

A: Sometimes, each book varies.

Q: Who would be your dream model to have on your covers?

A: I would love Tom Hardy as a cover model, I love him.
